Support the Site
This is a break from the norm for me since it doesn’t involve me slating the SNP in this blog post. Rather, it’s a bit of shameless promotion. For those not in the know about this website, it costs quite a lot of money to keep it running each year and for whois domain privacy. There are cheaper hosting providers out there, but they are plagued by downtimes so it’s a better option to go for the better quality web hosting provider.
For a while, I’ve had adverts running on the site, and they’ve only really generated a small sum of money for the site, and not to the extent that the revenue from the adverts covers the running of the site. I have now only kept the Google Adsense ads on the site, and removed any other types of adverts. Due to this I’ve been looking elsewhere as a means of helping to monetise the site to make sure that I can keep the site going for another year. After doing some searching, I found out that Amazon are doing a promotion with Amazon Prime.
In this promotion, they’re giving everyone a free 30 day trial, and if you like the service then you’ll be able to keep the subscription going for the price of £79 per year. With it, you can watch a wealth of shows (over 15,000) on Amazon Prime Video, as well as renting movies. With the spiritual successor to Top Gear also being exclusive to Amazon Prime Instant Video, it’s the only way you’ll be able to watch Clarkson, Hammond and May bring about their well loved brand of destruction. Oh, and they might talk about cars too! Amazon have also just made it possible for you to download the shows you love so you won’t need to be tied to the internet to watch anything. This is great if you’re going on business trips or going to be in areas where you won’t be able to get online.
Further, because this is part of Amazon Prime, you will also get unlimited one day delivery on anything you order from Amazon. This could come in especially handy in the run up to Christmas when the normal super saver delivery is normally 3-5 working days. This could also really help other people out too around this time; you could order the item for them from Amazon, get the one day delivery and then they pay you for the goods. It’s a win win situation.
Amazon have now added their music streaming service into the mix, so it really is great value for money.
